That’s right! This year’s annual Homecoming is being planned as an in-person event and the Homecoming Organization Committee is excited to welcome you back on campus after a three-year hiatus.

Together the Committee, the Alumni Relations Office and the Alumni Board are planning a Homecoming for the memory books – one that will make you feel right back at home.

Friday, September 23rd

Throughout the dayOpen LecturesRelive your days in class! A complete overview of topics, times, and locations will be provided later this summer…
15:00 – 22:00Welcome DeskPick up your welcome package and grab a drink and a snack after your journey …
15:00 – 17:00College ‘Eis’ BreakerTour your college with an ice cream in hand, and exchange college stories with students
17:00 – 18:30Career SymposiumThe traditional career event is back this year but in a different format! We will feature a keynote speaker and have interactive work groups consisting of faculty and alumni, who will work with students on building a solid foundation for their career paths.
18:30 – 20:00‘Major’ Networking ReceptionNetwork with fellow alumni, faculty, and students alike, and discuss where your Jacobs major took you, what’s exciting about your industry, or simply catch up over hor d'oeuvres and drinks (included).
20:00 – 12:00Chill @ TOSWind down from your trip and settle in now that you’re back ‘home’… lounge with fellow alumni and faculty. Drinks are on us!

 

Saturday, September 24th

10:30 – 12:30Alumni All Hands LIVEAn opportunity to be informed and engage with JUB President Professor Fabio Pammolli, Vice Chairman Dr. Philipp Rösler, and majority shareholder, Serg Bell. An interactive session that will discuss the current state of the University, future plans, and how alumni play an important role in the transition. Coffee and drinks will be provided.
*Alumni, you have a voice in the association and university! Vote, give feedback, ask questions during the General Assembly.
General Assembly
12:00 – 15:00Food Truck FestDelicious fare, friends, families … and fun activities for all! All included in the price, of course!
 JacolympixSpeaking of games… the rest of campus will be a veritable ‘olympics’, so channel your inner cheerleader and root for the students!
18:30 – 19:30Champagne ReceptionAlumni from all classes are invited to Celebrate the Future with champagne, dinner and drinks, inspiring stories from Alumni Scholarship awardees, an auction, and entertaining performances from fellow Jacobians…
19:30 – 22:30“Celebrate the Future” Gala
23:00 – 3:00**The BIG After-PartyRevel in the ‘good ol’ days’ on the dance floor and party all night long with your fellow alumni… we provide the drinks and party snacks, you provide the moves on the dance floor!

*The Alumni All Hands LIVE and General Assembly will be live-streamed for alumni who are not physically present to join. Please note non-members are not permitted to vote and the General Assembly, but are welcome to stay after the Alumni All Hands event.

** We expect a big crowd this year, as we will celebrate nine (yes, you read that correctly – 9!) reunion classes back on campus. We invite the classes of 2005, 2006, and 2007 for their 15-year anniversaries; 2010, 2011, and 2012 for their 10-year anniversaries; and 2015, 2016, and 2017 for their 5-year anniversaries.

We’ll have a photographer on Saturday to capture all of the memorable moments!
Note that photographs taken at the event can be used for promotional purposes including but not limited to social media, such as Facebook, Instagram, as well as the Homecoming website page.

Sunday, September 25th

10:30 – 13:00Farewell Brunch
(Originally not covered in the ticket price, the university will cover the expense if there are enough people interested!)

Through the partnership with SIT, we are able to keep the ticket cost to a minimum, despite current global challenges.

*Events include the ‘Major’ Networking Reception and Chilling @ TOS on Friday, as well as the Food Truck Fest and ‘After-Party’ on Saturday and Sunday’s Farewell brunch. Please refer to the weekend schedule for event information.

**The Gala is the premier event of Homecoming weekend, as alumni are dressed to the nines while enjoying a formal dinner with entertaining performances by current students and fellow alumni.

NOTE that we will strive to accommodate dietary restrictions by providing vegetarian and vegan options at all events.

Cancellations

We understand that circumstances change and potential issues may arise. Therefore, we offer a full refund for cancellations made just a week prior to the event, September 16th. Thereafter, no refunds will be issued.
Please contact your alumni [at] jacobs-university.de (Alumni Relations Office) to cancel or with questions.

Check-in

When you arrive on campus, please check in at the Campus Center foyer and pick up your nametag and welcome package. Staff will also be available to answer any questions you may have about the weekend’s events.

COVID19

JUB strictly follows state and federal regulations regarding corona safety measures and encourages mask wearing and regular testing when possible.

Attendees are encouraged to test for COVID-19 prior to travel and arrival on campus, and to test using a rapid antigen test should they become symptomatic.

Please forego attending events if you are feeling ill.
