Interim Professor of Computer Science (m/f/d)

(Machine Learning)

(full-time, 38.5 hours/week; limited to 3 years)

What we expect:

Strong candidates have a track record of doing research in machine learning and have experience in transferring their research knowledge to solving problems in science and engineering. Applicants have a Ph.D. degree in computer science or closely related fields and have demonstrated excellence in research and teaching in the context of international and diverse environments. The candidate will take over teaching responsibility for undergraduate level courses on theoretical computer science and for undergraduate and graduate level courses on machine learning and data science. The candidate will supervise Bachelor and Master theses, as well as other student projects, and will advise students during their studies.
 

Your Qualifications:

  • PhD degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Thorough skills in various programming and software engineering paradigms
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interest in innovative teaching styles
  • Responsible, self-motivated person able to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Fluent in English, the language of instruction and communication on campus
  • Experience in teaching  in the context of  international and diverse environments

Successful candidates should be ideally available to begin in August 2019.
