What we expect:

Applicants must have demonstrated excellence in research and teaching in Electrical Engineering. The successful candidate will take over teaching responsibilities of undergraduate laboratory courses in fundamentals of electrical engineering, signals and systems, and electronics, and offer specialization courses close to his/her area of research. The selected candidate will supervise thesis projects of students in the Bachelor of Science program in Electrical and Computer Engineering and in the Master of Science program in Data Engineering, as well as advise students of those programs in other projects and during their studies, with a particular focus to boost students’ abilities to design and build electric and/or electronic systems. It is furthermore desirable that the candidate seek third-party funding to support research aiming at publications in reputed journals and international conferences, as well as to foster engagement with local industry.

Strong candidates have a demonstrated track record of high-quality research with a clear focus on the design and hardware implementation of electrical engineering systems and solutions including experience in transferring their research knowledge to solving problems in science and engineering. Typical research areas of interest include RF hardware design, audio/video system design, signal processing, e.g., with sonar, seismic, medical, or mechanical applications, integrated chip design and FPGA, or optical electronics.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completed studies and a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field
  • Thorough skills in various tools used in hardware design (including implementation)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interest in innovative teaching styles
  • Responsible, self-motivated person able to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Fluent in English, the language of instruction and communication on campus
  • Experience in teaching in the context of international and diverse environments

Successful candidates should be ideally available to begin in September 2019.
