In his speech at the traditional New Year's reception of “unifreunde” - a network of Bremen’s universities and the local government - in Bremen's City Hall, Dr. Serg Bell emphasized the close cooperation between Constructor University in Bremen, the City of Bremen and the University of Bremen. The Chairman of the Board of Governors and majority shareholder of Constructor University is ready to invest in Bremen’s future.

Around 300 guests from science, business and society attended the reception in Bremen's City Hall. Speakers included Mayor Andreas Bovenschulte, the President of the University of Bremen, Professor Jutta Günther, and Peter Hoedemaker, Chairman of the Board of unifreunde. They agreed with Bell that cooperation is essential for the success of science. The six newly appointed professors of Constructor University were also introduced at the reception: Prof Andreas Seebeck, Prof. Jan Lorenz, Prof. Amr Alanwar Abdelhafez, Prof. Felix Jonas, Prof. Alexander Omelchenko, and Prof. Katrin Rosenthal.

The week before, Constructor University hosted guests from the Vegesack local community on campus to attend the Vegesacker New Year's reception, which was organized by Heiko Dornstedt, Mayor of the local authorities in Bremen Vegesack. Here, too, Bell pleaded for greater involvement of the private university in its immediate neighborhood and offered his support for the implementation of joint projects. Bell, who has supported the university with 15 million EUR of direct investment to date, along with 10 million EUR in indirect support through the Constructor network, is greatly invested in strengthening ties in the local community. The approximately 130 guests also showed generosity: they donated to the “Innere Mission” in Bremen Vegesack, which helps people in need.

On February 23rd, the university campus will host an event to also uphold and deepen international relations. On the eve of the annual anniversary celebrations of the East Asian Association Bremen (Ostasiatischer Verein, OAV), a traditional reception on behalf of the OAV Bremen, the OAV Hamburg, and the Bremen Chamber of Commerce will take place at the university’s Campus Center. High-ranking representatives from diplomacy, science and business are expected to attend, giving students the opportunity to expand their professional networks internationally. The evening’s focus will be on Singaporean economy and business culture. The keynote speech will be held by Dr. Stanislav Protasov, Managing Director of Constructor University, who has been living in Singapore with his family for decades.
