Competent in interculturality and excellently trained: graduates of Jacobs University Bremen are highly sought after by employers. The international university enables companies and organizations to establish contacts with their students at an early stage. For this purpose, the annual "Jacobs Career Fair" will take place on Wednesday, March 4th, 2020. Companies wishing to exhibit at the fair can apply for an early booking discount of 20 percent until the end of August.

The event at the university's Campus Center serves as a contact exchange between students, graduates and potential employers. The Bremen Chamber of Commerce – IHK for Bremen and Bremerhaven – will again co-host the event. Companies and institutions can present themselves and their entry positions, internships, trainee programs or research projects from 2-6pm. The accompanying program includes company presentations and workshops for students on career issues, and Jacobs Alumni will also share their professional experiences. The network reception following the Fair will enable exhibitors to hold further in-depth discussions with invited guests, professors, graduates, and other company representatives.

One focus in the coming year will again be the startup scene. Young companies will be given the opportunity to exhibit at very favorable conditions. "We want to give them the opportunity to attract talented young people to their companies and at the same time promote networking within the start-up scene," says Predrag Tapavicki, Head of Alumni and Career Services at Jacobs University. The start-ups founded by Jacobs graduates will play a special role here.

The Fair is open not only to students from Jacobs University but also to students from other universities in the state of Bremen and universities and colleges in northwest Germany.

Companies with a regional focus are just as welcome at the Jacobs Career Fair as non-profit organizations and international corporations. Exhibitors who have participated in recent years include Google, Daimler, KPMG, AB InBev, Deutsche Börse, Tesla, DMK, Barry Callebaut, Dräger, Roche, the Federal Foreign Office, GIZ, Hertie School of Governance and numerous renowned research institutes.

At the Career Fair in February 2019, 1400 students and 40 companies attended. Many discussions led to the signing of internship contracts and contracts for entry positions.
