On the evening before the official Foundation Festival of the Ostasiatischer Verein Bremen e.V. (OAV), Jacobs University invites to a reception for members and guests of the OAV, the East Asian Association of Bremen. This reception will take place on Thursday, February 22, at 6.30 pm at the Campus Center’s Conference Hall. Expected at the international university are round about 100 high-ranking representatives from politics and diplomacy, academics and business.
The guest speaker for the evening is Prof. Dr. Sebastian Heilmann, President of the Mercator Institute for China Studies, Berlin. He will speak on the topic of “China as a global power: How China will shape our future and how to prepare for it”
The guests will be welcomed by the President of Jacobs University, Prof. Dr. Michael Hülsmann, as well as Thomas Kriwat, Chairman of the Ostasiatischer Verein Bremen e.V. Students at the English-medium university will participate in the evening's activities through musical contributions and presentations. The event will end with a get-together. Close contact to the Asian continent is of great significance to the international university. About every fourth student at Jacobs University comes from the Asia-Pacific Region.
The reception held in English in the honor of the Ostasiatischer Verein Bremen e.V. starts at 6:30 p.m. in the ICC Conference Hall. Please register.
