It was intended to be a cheerful, entertaining and informative party with a lot of “good chats” between neighbors –and that was exactly what it was. Several hundred visitors came to the "Open House 2019". The open university day on the campus of Jacobs University Bremen was not only impressive because of its blooming rhododendrons. Students and staff led visitors around the campus, scientists talked about their work, there was live music and much more.

Exciting information about the range of courses on offer, funding opportunities and the host family program - there was plenty to talk about at the Jacobs University's Open House (source: Jacobs University).

"I would like to thank all visitors for coming. My thanks also goes to the students, staff and friends of Jacobs University for their fantastic commitment. That was great and further proof of the community spirit we have here on campus," says Jens V. Dünnbier, member of the University's Management Board and host of the event.

Many visitors –from the immediate vicinity in Bremen-Nord, from Bremen itself, from neighboring Lower Saxony but also from Hamburg and even from the Ruhr area – took the opportunity to take a look at the rooms and laboratories of the university or to inform themselves in one of the workshops about the courses and research areas of the international university. "It is a spacious and inviting campus to explore. I am surprised at the many ways in which the students' sense of community is strengthened," said one of the visitors. By the way, the gates of Jacobs University are open all year round. Many of the students' events are open to the public and visitors are very welcome.
