Theater Space celebrates its 10th Anniversary

May 20, 2020

Ten years ago, on May 10, 2010, Jacobs University’s Theater Space opened its doors for the first with the ‘Grand Opening Variety Show’. The event was a showcase of student talents ranging from musical numbers, theater and dance pieces, and even a clown act. The show was a tribute to the army of volunteers who, with the support of numerous donors, built the space, transforming an unused space into a performing arts venue for student and neighborhood talents.

Over the last ten years’ time, our Theater Space has hosted a wide variety of talent and productions with participants from all over the globe. The Theater Space really has given a whole new meaning to ‘all the world’s a stage’.

A celebration of the anniversary was planned, along with the sixth production of the Jacobs Way Musical, but unfortunately, both had to be called off due to corona challenges. The Jacobs Players, who call the Theater Space their home, hope to revive both the show and the Theater Space celebrations sometime in the future because the show must go on!
