The PhD student will work on data-driven approaches to device and network centric cyber security. The PhD position will be funded for three years, starting in January 2019 or later. The research will be carried out in close collaboration with other academic research groups in Europe within an EU-funded cyber security project. The European project also integrates several non-academic partners that are offering cyber security services or require cyber security solutions.
The focus of the research will be on the development and evaluation of novel data-driven approaches providing device centric and network centric cyber security. Our goal is to develop new mechanisms that fit into a holistic end-to-end approach towards cyber security. To achieve that, it is essential to collaborate with researchers from other research groups that focus on cyber security aspects of other components of integrated IT systems.
- University degree (Master or Diploma) in computer science with a strong focus on technical computer science
- Curiosity in fundamental problems of device, network, and systems security
- Strong system level programming skills
- Very good command of English, both in written and oral communication
- No knowledge of German language is required. Jacobs University Bremen is an international research university

- Openess to collaborative research within a large European project
