Semester Ticket Fall 2019

Semester Ticket Fall 19 & Spring 20 (all students):
221,67€* per student (138,40€ for the VBN area, 83,27€ for the additional routes of the extended semester ticket).
Semester Ticket Fall 20 & Spring 21 (all students):
229,59€* per student (141,60€ for the VBN area, 87,99€ for the additional routes of the extended semester ticket).
*Please note that the semester ticket price is subject to change by the local transportation companies.

University Fee for Master Students: 60,00 € + 221,67 € = 281,67 € due in total
University Fee for PhD Students: 50,00 € + 221,67 € = 271,67 € due in total

The semester tickets are always sent to the semester address on record by the Student Records Office. To update your address, please use this form.

 

Dispensation

You may apply for semester ticket dispensation only if:

  • you are doing an internship semester as part of your studies and you are required to stay enrolled during the internship (no leave of absence)
  • you are doing research outside of Germany as part of your studies; thus you are required to stay enrolled
  • you have a proof of handicap and therefore have free transportation in VBN and BSAG busses

Please note that if your dispensation is granted you will not be charged with a semester fee charge (university fees still apply) and you will not receive a semester ticket. It will not be possible to receive it at a later moment in the semester, even if you had to return to Bremen and need your semester ticket.

Lost/Stolen Ticket

To request a new semester ticket, please use this form.

Your request will be processed with priority. You will be notified via email once the ticket is ready to collect. You can pick it up during the office hours in RLH 102. You will be asked to pay 20 €.

 

General Information

The semester ticket allows you to use the public transportation system in and around Bremen.

Areas and Means of Transportation

The semester ticket allows you to use the following public transportation means within the VBN area:

  • Buses and trams of the BSAG (mainly within Bremen)
  • Buses of the VGB in Bremerhaven
  • Buses of the VWG in Oldenburg
  • Regional buses around Bremen
  • All trains of the NordWestBahn (2nd class)
  • Trains of the Deutsche Bahn (RegionalExpress, Regionalbahn in the designated area) as well as the Metronom train

You can also travel to Hamburg-Altona with the Metronom trains, however not by S-Train nor by the Hamburg-Hochbahn. Ferries and “Nachteule” (i.e., night buses) are not included.

New: From 15.12.2013 you can use the IC/EC trains between Bremen HBf and Norddeich, Mole/Emden.

The VBN area mainly includes the following cities and villages:
Bremerhaven, Diepholz, Eystrup, Freisdorf, Lemförde, Nordenham, Oldenburg, Rotenburg, Verden, Wildeshausen
Villages between Bremen and the places listed above

The following additional train connections outside the VBN area are included:
Rastede – Wilhelmshaven (KBS 392/R9), Wilhelmshaven – Sande – Esens (Ostfrl.) (KBS 393), Augustfehn – Leer – Emden, Außenhafen – Norddeich, Mole (KBS 390/R7), Leer – Rheine (KBS 395), Ahlhorn – Cloppenburg – Osnabrück Hbf. (KBS 392/R9), Wildeshausen – Vechta – Osnabrück Hbf. (KBS 394/R6), Diepholz – Osnabrück Hbf. (KBS 385/R5), Verden – Eystrup – Hannover Hbf. (KBS 380A/R1), Rotenburg (Wümme) – Hamburg Hbf.
