Over the course of the years, each college community has developed its own character, a spirit that can be felt particularly during sports and arts competitions. Each of the colleges also organizes a wide variety of student-driven events during the year such as large cultural festivals like the Deepawali Festival of Lights or Chinese New Year, and educational events like the Global Issues Forum or Country Information Days.

STUDENT & ALUMNI VOICES

“My Professors' unwavering support and mentorship have been life-changing in many ways."

Mahlaqua Noor, Pakistan, Biochemistry and Cell Biology '19, has been awarded with a doctorate scholarship from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for Cambridge University.

Jacobs University has given me a ton of specialist knowledge. But most of all, the university has taught me to make something of myself.

Catherine Jacob-Dolan, USA, Biochemistry and Cell Biology '18, pursuing a PhD in Immunology at Harvard University.

Interdisciplinary courses from completely unrelated fields opened my mind. Today I am able to look at a problem from a whole new set of angles which helped me a lot in my career.

Cornel Amariai, Romania, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science '15, Head of Innovation at Continental and selected on Forbes “30 under 30” list in Europe.

What I sought was exactly that: an international community that really celebrated its diversity—and that’s what I found.

Leonoor Cornelissen, The Netherlands, International Politics and History '13, working at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.

Hi there, I’m Ryan Mrowka and I am the Regional Manager for Jacobs University’s recruitment activities in U.S. and Canada.

I am originally from a small city in New York, but I have lived in several places along the American east coast. I served in the U.S. Army and taught high school history for over a decade before moving my family to Bremen. I love that Jacobs gives me the opportunity to connect with people from around the world. When I am not recruiting, I enjoy playing with my kids and watching or playing soccer (I mean “football”).
