For online exams proctoring will also happen online using students’ webcams and/or smartphone cameras. This can be conducted in the form of online live proctoring or online record & review proctoring. Online live proctoring means live monitoring by proctors using the students’ webcams and/or smartphone cameras. Online record & review proctoring means recording of the examination situation using the students’ webcams and/or smartphone cameras with subsequent evaluation by proctors. Constructor University will decide on the basis of capacity considerations which mode will be used for which test.
Constructor University may work with external partners which operate in accordance with University policies and German data security law (DSGVO). For this purpose, video and audio recordings of the examinee are made for identification purposes and during the exam as well as of the room and workplace and the screen during the exam to exclude any attempts at cheating. Constructor University uses the data collected during online proctoring exclusively to ensure proper supervision during your exams.
The data recorded will be deleted within 48 hours after the examination. In case of suspicion of a fraud attempt the data will be stored until the final clarification of the facts.
Participation in online tests, in which supervision is carried out by online live or record & review proctoring, is voluntary for you and is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO. If you nevertheless decide, by not consenting to online proctoring, against our offer to take an online written exam in May, you will be offered the opportunity to take the exam during the make-up period, and the original online exam will not be counted in this case as your first attempt.
You can request information from us at any time about your stored personal data (Art. 15-18 and 20 DSGVO) and you can change or revoke your declaration of consent at any time without giving reasons with effect for the future (Art. 21 DSGVO). Please note that data processing that took place before the revocation is not affected by this. If you revoke your consent during an online assessment, the online proctoring will be stopped immediately. However, in this case the corresponding test cannot be considered passed, as proper supervision cannot be guaranteed.
